Dapeng Xiao is Associate Professor at Beijing University of Chemical Technology. He also serves as the member of Society of Chinese Folk Orchestral Music Association, council member of Beijing Wind Association, council member and vice secretary of Beijing Hu-Lu-Si Ba-Wu Flute Association, and council member and director of the Federation of Literary and Art Circles of Shi-ba-li-dian County.
Currently he is the head of General Arts Division in the Department of Art and Design, taking charge of the operation of the General Arts Division as well as university’s Student Art Organizations. Meanwhile, he carries out aesthetic education practice teaching of the university, including conducting Chinese Orchestra, organizing Ocarina Workshop, etc.
He has guided University Art Ensembles to participate in the Beijing University Students Art Exhibition, Beijing University Students Music Festival, Beijing International Wind Music Festival, and other events, winning gold and silver awards on multiple occasions, and receiving the titles of Best Conductor and Outstanding Instructor multiple times.
Xiao Dapeng has published articles and musical works in core music journals including People's Music, Music Creation, and China Arts News. He has led university-level educational reform projects including Research on the Reform of Aesthetic Education Teaching in Colleges and Universities, Construction and Teaching Practice of Opera Workshops, and Central University Basic Scientific Research Operation Foundation project —Exploration of Aesthetic Practice Education in Comprehensive Universities.
