Qianyi Fan is Probational Associate Professor at Beijing University of Chemical and Technology Department of Arts and Design. She holds her doctorate degree in violin performance at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, with a minor in music theory.
Currently being the music director of student chamber orchestra of BUCT, she focuses her work on the general music education studies throughout the university. She has established String Workshop, organized and performed classical music salon-concerts, guided students music organizations, and taught several general music courses including Introduction to Essential Musical Skills for College Students, and Chamber Music Appreciation. The student chamber orchestra has won golden prize in 2022 Beijing Music Competition for College Students under her instruction, where she also achieved “Best Teacher Award”.
Her main research area is western classical music and art criticism. She published articles in European Association of Professors Emeriti, and wrote booklet for music album published by Divine Art.
Qianyi Fan has studied violin with Grammy winner, founding member of Pacifica Quartet, Professor Simin Ganatra for many years. As a performer, Qianyi has being the concertmaster of Indiana University New Music Ensemble and associate concertmaster of InterHarmony Music Festival in Italy. She has received Dorothy DeLay String Foundation to attend the Aspen Music Festival in United Stated. She has also joined the performances of Central Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra, China National Opera house and China NCPA Orchestra as a tutti player. She has performed in multiple solo and chamber concerts in Beijing, Nanjing and Shanghai. In 2022, she finished the U.S. premiere of Ysaÿe’s Violin Concerto in G Minor (1910) in her doctoral lecture-recital.
