Cooperation and communication

On November 24, 2024, the Traditional Chinese Orchestra of Beijing No. 27 Middle School and the Ethnic Orchestra of Beijing University of Chemical Technology held a collaborative exchange event at the Student Activity Center of the Changping Campus of Beijing University of Chemical Technology. The event was hosted by Professor Xiao Dapeng, head of the Public Arts Division of the Department of Art and Design. Attendees included Li Xuemei, Party Secretary of the Department of Art and Design; Yuan Lijun, Party Secretary of Beijing No. 27 Middle School; Director Dong Nan; Teacher Wang Jing; and four other teachers from the middle school. Teachers Luo Yujia, Fan Qianyi, and Wu You from BUCT Art Troupe also participated in the exchange. The rehearsal hall was filled with enthusiasm and warmth.

 The event began with BUCTEthnic Orchestra performing the classic piece Where lies the path ahead? under the baton of its conductor, Wu You. The performance served as a heartfelt welcome to the teachers and students of Beijing No. 27 Middle School. This piece holds profound meaning, symbolizing the pursuit and explorationof the future.

Beijing No. 27 Middle School’s Jin Fan Traditional Chinese Orchestra, a high-caliber school ensemble guided artistically by Zhang Ming, a conductor from the Beijing Chinese Orchestra, has achieved outstanding results in various district and city-level competitions. Under Zhang Ming’s direction, the orchestra performed a jazz-infused rendition of The Creek Flows, showcasing the unique vitality and charm of middle school students.

 The event ended in a joint performance of I Love YouChina, conducted by the renowned Zhang Ming, where students from both orchestras played together in harmony. This collaboration deepened mutual understanding, fostered dialogue about music interpretation, and developed a deep frendship among musicians.

Two Party Secretary are Exchanging Gifts

At the end of the event, Yuan Lijun, Party Secretary of Beijing No. 27 Middle School, and Li Xuemei, Party Secretary of the Department of Art and Design Beijing University of Chemical Technology, delivered speeches. They both highly commended this event and expressed their hopes that it would further strengthen the friendship between the two schools and contribute to the preservation and development of traditional Chinese music through joint efforts. They exchanged commemorative cultural gifts and posed for a group photo with all participants, marking a successful conclusion to the event.
