The Outstanding Works Exhibition of the 2024 Beijing University Students Industrial Design Competition opened on December 17 at the Changping Campus and will run for two weeks. The opening ceremony was hosted by Zhuang Yibing, Director of the Department of Art and Design at Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT). Attendees included Liang Yongtu, Vice President of BUCT; Liu Yongxiang, Director of the Industrial Design Department at Beifang University of Technology; Zhang Yuying, Director of the Art Department at the Cultural Center of Changping District, as well as faculty and student representatives from the Department of Art and Design.

In his speech, Vice President Liang emphasized that this year's competition is closely aligned with the pulse of the times, integrating the concept of "enhancing new productivity" into the design theme. He highlighted that this approach has inspired the creative potential of young students, encouraging them to boldly explore and discover new paths for design innovation under the leadership of technological advancements.

The Beijing University Students Industrial Design Competition is an annual public event organized by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and hosted by Beifang University of Technology, targeting industrial design students from universities in Beijing. The competition aims to cultivate students' innovative awareness and practical abilities, enhancing their understanding and recognition of the industrial design field. By providing a platform for display and exchange, the competition fosters communication between academic institutions and industry needs, promoting the integration of industrial design education and industry development in Beijing.
This exhibition showcases 71 first-prize works and 30 second-prize works from the 2024 competition. The works cover five major themes: Smart & Experience, Service & System, Culture & Social Innovation, Life & Fashion, and Health & Environment. These categories include various fields such as smart wearables, smart home, intelligent transportation, medical health, and office efficiency.
