Introduction:
My name is Zhuang Yibing, and I was born in 1970 in Xuyi, Jiangsu Province. I am of Han ethnicity. In 1988, I was admitted to the Fine Arts Education program at Nanjing Normal University's School of Fine Arts. In 1998, I entered the postgraduate program at the same institution. Later, in 2002, I furthered my studies at the School of Design at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and in 2005, I attended the Advanced Seminar on Design Theory led by Wang Shouzhi at Jiangnan University. I completed my Master's degree in 2009 at the Institute of Fine Arts, Nanjing University. Between 2016 and 2017, I had the opportunity to be a visiting scholar at the School of Architecture and Design at the University of Genoa, Italy. Currently, I am a member of the China Artists Association and an expert in the Beijing Cultural and Creative Industries Expert Database. I serve as the Director of the Department of Art and Design at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, where I am a Professor and Master's Supervisor. Additionally, I am an advisor to the Painting and Calligraphy Academy of the China Aging Development Foundation, a board member of the Jiangsu Province Industrial Design Association, a member of the Jiangsu Province Aesthetics Society, and a member of the Xu Beihong Research Association of Jiangsu Province. Throughout my career, I have contributed to the fields of Chinese painting, watercolor painting, gouache painting, and art design. My works have been selected four times for the National Art Exhibition, which is held once every five years (11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th editions). I have also participated in over 30 national and provincial design and painting exhibitions (including collaborations). To date, I have published more than 100 papers in various art journals. I have held solo exhibitions at the Kawashima Art Museum in Japan, the University of Genoa in Italy, and the University of Miskolc in Hungary. My research focuses on interpreting and expressing the traditional language of Chinese art in contemporary contexts, with a particular interest in exploring the art of survival. I strongly believe in the philosophy of artistic living, which shapes my artistic pursuit. My main areas of research are Chinese calligraphy and painting, as well as the redesign of Chinese folk art.
