The live audition round of "Most Beautiful Chorus", a major music competition program launched by Beijing TV, recently came to an end. With solid singing skills and an infectious stage performance, BUCT Choir stood out in the live audition on November 2nd and successfully advanced to the next stage of the competition. They won honors for the school and showcased the artistic charm and youthful vitality of BUCT students.
Co-produced by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and Beijing Radio and Television Station, "Most Beautiful Chorus" takes "conveying beauty through singing and uniting strength through chorus" as its tenet and has attracted outstanding choirs from various fields to participate. The competition adopts a mechanism of "on-site judges' evaluation & online audience voting", focusing on assessing the comprehensive strength and musical expressiveness of the participating teams, and the selection process is fair, just and open.
During the preparation period, the choir members balanced their academic studies and rehearsals. Under the guidance of conductor Yujia Luo, they optimized their singing skills, carefully selected the competition repertoire, and repeatedly polished the details from repertoire selection to formation arrangement. Conductor Yujia Luo provided full-process guidance on the program's presentation form and helped the members further improving their singing skills. After communicating with the program team, they finally selected the song Da Hua Jiao (a traditional Chinese folk song, literally meaning "Big Sedan Chair"), which combines artistry and appeal. This selection not only showcases the team's musical characteristics but also conveys a positive and uplifting spirit.
On the live broadcast day of November 2nd, members of BUCT Choir took the stage with a full and energetic demeanor. Accompanied by the melodious accompaniment, the members used their clear and resounding singing voices as well as their highly tacit harmonic vocals to express the emotions contained in the repertoire to the fullest extent. This spiritual interpretation of the choir not only won high recognition from the on-site judges but also gained massive voting support from online netizens.
This advancement is not only an affirmation of the strength of BUCT Choir but also a vivid reflection of the achievements of the school's music education. For a long time, BUCT has always attached great importance to the cultivation of students' comprehensive quality, actively built diversified art practice platforms, encouraged students to develop their interests and hobbies, and enhanced their artistic literacy. As one of the key student art groups under the school's focus construction, the choir has achieved excellent results in various music competitions on many occasions and has become an important calling card that showcases the achievements of the school's cultural and aesthetic education.
Next, BUCT Choir will continue to devote themselves to the preparation for subsequent competitions with full enthusiasm. In accordance with the competition rules of Most Beautiful Chorus, the teams that have advanced will compete for the qualification of "Most Beautiful Challenge Team". Taking this advancement as a starting point, the members will refine their skills, innovate their arrangements, and strive to achieve even better results, allowing the voices of students from BUCT to shine on a larger stage.
