On the morning of June 11th,Creativity Nurtures the Wise Mind—2026 Undergraduate Graduation Design Exhibition of the Department of Art and Design opened at the Art Exhibition Hall in the University Student Activity Center of Changping Campus.Liang Yongtu,member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committeeand vice president ofBUCT,representatives from relevant functional departments,off-campus experts including Professor Wang Nai,Associate Professor Qian Mingjun,Associate Professor Zhang Wei and Lawyer Wu Feng,as well as the leadership team and faculty and student representatives of the Department of Art and Design,attended the opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Zhuang Yibing,head of the Department of Art and Design.The host first introduced the overall background of the exhibition and delivered an in-depth interpretation of the theme Creativity Nurtures the Wise Mind. Liu Qingya,director of the Academic Affairs Office,addressed the audience.She praised the students for pursuing innovation and wisdom to hone their professional skills,adhering to sincere aspirations to cultivate humanistic sentiments,and enriching their inner spiritual world through artistic beauty.She noted that the students have built an aesthetic landscape full of warmth amid the integration of technology and humanities.
As a representative of off-campus experts,Wang Nai delivered a speech.He remarked that the students’ works integrate interdisciplinary thinking,profound humanistic feelings and cutting-edge technical practice,which were deeply touching.These works fully demonstrate the students’ solid professional foundation as well as their unique vision to perceive reality and care about society. Wei Yinan,a graduate representative,shared her creative insights,growth experience and words of gratitude.

Following the opening ceremony, distinguished guests,teachers and students visited the exhibition and engaged in in-depth exchanges. The exhibition will last for three weeks and is open to the public. This exhibition marks a remarkable milestone in the students’ academic journey as well as a brand-new starting point for their future lives. The Department of Art and Design will continue to deepen its distinctive educational features of integrating art with engineering and strive to cultivate high-quality design talents with innovative thinking and a sense of social responsibility. We also wish all graduates to ride the wave of the times, forge ahead bravely and compose brilliant chapters of their own.
